Description and Role

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Unimore), founded in 1175, is one of the oldest universities in Europe. It is renowned for its research excellence, particularly in engineering, medicine, and economics. Unimore collaborates closely with leading industries, especially in the automotive and biomedical sectors.

In the SPRINT project, Unimore is responsible for developing the synthesis of olivine NaFePO₄ and optimizing the synthesis of maricite NaFePO₄ using the hydrothermal and solid-state methods. Additionally, Unimore must test the use of redox mediators to improve sodium extraction during the charging process and stabilize the particle surface through an artificial Cathode Electrolyte Interface.
